The primary purpose of the Global Project Logistics Transport Engineering Manager is to develop, maintain, and implement technical standards across Kuehne+Nagel’s global project logistics operations. This role plays a critical part in mitigating risk exposure, increasing the win ratio of project bids, and driving operational excellence. The position requires the use of CAD applications to create technical drawings and develop load‑securing concepts for overland transportation, including but not limited to road, rail, barge transfer, and site laydown operations.
The role gathers, translates, and prioritizes customer and operational requirements into actionable technical initiatives, while providing hands‑on support for on‑site operations and HSE‑related activities. This role ensures strong technical support and effective knowledge transfer for both internal and external stakeholders, enabling seamless customer implementations and the adoption of new technical solutions. Additionally, the position contributes to the organization’s transformation agenda by advancing sustainability within global project logistics engineering.

- The role interacts extensively with global and national project logistics teams, business units, functional units , customers, suppliers, and technology partners.
- Perform cargo securing calculations to ensure safe transport for all possible modes of transport.
- Develop technical drawings, including 2D and 3D CAD designs.
- Conduct route and site surveys, as well as feasibility studies.
- Select appropriate equipment based on vendor drawings and site conditions.
- Supervise operations and conduct pre‑shipment inspections.
- Develop comprehensive journey management plans to optimize transport routes and schedules.
- University degree in engineering or a related technical field.
- Experience in project logistics or freight forwarding, ideally in large‑scale projects.
- Strong project management background, including solution design and technical implementation.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills across cultures and functions.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, perform calculations, and work with 2D/3D CAD tools.
- Good understanding of transport regulations, engineering standards, and HSSE requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Willingness to travel for site surveys, operations, and customer engagements.
