Material​/Technical Engineer – Interior Fit

The Material / Technical Engineer – Fit-Out is responsible for managing material submittals, technical approvals, and compliance of all interior fit-out works. The role ensures that materials, finishes, and installation methods meet project specifications, authority requirements, and quality standards while supporting smooth coordination between design, site, procurement, and consultants.

• Prepare, review, and submit material submittals, samples, and mock-ups for all fit-out elements (finishes, joinery, partitions, ceilings, flooring, FF&E).
• Ensure materials comply with project specifications, approved drawings, authority regulations, and client requirements.
• Track approval status and maintain a material submittal register.

• Review IFC drawings, shop drawings, and specifications to identify material requirements and technical constraints.
• Coordinate with consultants, designers, and suppliers to resolve technical queries and discrepancies.
• Prepare and respond to RFIs related to materials and construction methods.

• Ensure materials delivered to site match approved submittals and samples.
• Support QA/QC inspections and ensure compliance with method statements and ITPs.
• Assist in inspections, mock-up approvals, and snag rectification related to materials.

• Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure timely material approvals aligned with project schedules.
• Provide technical support to site teams during installation of fit-out works.
• Verify material quantities and specifications prior to procurement and delivery.

• Maintain updated records of approvals, technical data sheets, test certificates, and warranties.
• Assist in preparing O&M manuals, material datasheets, and as-built documentation.

• Gypsum partitions & ceilings
• Joinery & carpentry works
• Flooring systems (tiles, marble, vinyl, carpet, parquet)
• Wall finishes (paint, wallpaper, cladding, decorative panels)
• FF&E and specialty finishes

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related discipline
• 3–7 years of experience in interior fit-out projects (commercial, residential, hospitality)
• Strong knowledge of fit-out materials, finishes, and installation standards
• Experience with UAE/GCC authority requirements is an advantage
• Strong understanding of technical specifications and drawings
• Excellent coordination and communication skills
• Familiar with submittal workflows and approval processes
• Proficient in MS Office; knowledge of AutoCAD is an advantage
• Detail-oriented with strong documentation control skills
