We are seeking a Cost Control Engineer to manage project costs, revenue forecasting, and client invoicing across international projects. The role includes bid-stage estimating, reviewing RFPs, and coordinating with finance teams. Multi-discipline knowledge in civil, mechanical, and electrical is preferred. Growth into senior roles is possible based on performance.
- Generate comprehensive project cost reports and analyses on a monthly basis to illustrate the financial status and progress of ongoing projects. Ensure accuracy and timeliness in reporting.
- Work closely with Project Managers and in-country Quantity Surveyors (QS) to gather necessary data for finalizing cost reports, claims, and variations. Facilitate regular meetings to discuss project finances and resolve discrepancies.
- Continuously assess the project scope of work to identify potential changes or deviations.
- Prepare detailed claims or variations when scope changes occur. Develop supporting documentation to justify these claims, ensuring all submissions to clients are clear and well-structured.
- Collaborate with the Head of FP&A to create accurate monthly revenue forecasts. Ensure forecasts are discussed and finalized with the Heads of Department (HOD), QS, and Project Managers to reflect realistic expectations based on current project performance.
- Promptly respond to any inquiries related to project costs, providing detailed explanations and analyses as needed to ensure transparency and understanding.
- Foster effective communication between project teams and finance departments to maintain alignment on financial objectives.
- Assist in developing cost estimates based on received requests for proposals (RFPs).
- Coordinate with other disciplines and take the lead in collecting and preparing final price proposals for further review by management.
- Strong understanding of project finance, budgeting, and cost management principles.
- Generate detailed bills of materials required for the project.
- Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or Quantity Surveying or related field.
- Professional certification i.e. MRICS or PMP is an advantage.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in cost control and quantity surveying, preferably in a construction or engineering environment.
- Familiarity with project management tools and ERP systems
- Experience in working with large-scale projects across multiple countries is an advantage
