Bid Manager
Bid Manager will be the initial technical point of contact, offering support or consultancy to customers prior to sales. The Bid Manager will also be responsible for providing quotations for solutions, services, and turnkey business, ensuring competitive pricing and cutting‑edge technology are highlighted.
The Bid Manager plays a pivotal role in assisting Area Sales Managers and Contract Administrators with technical guidance during the execution of projects while supporting the Project Management throughout project execution with technical and design issues. Additionally, when required, the Bid Manager will assume the leadership of a team of Bid Managers within the region.
What you’ll do- Prepare, coordinate, and submit bids ranging from simple to complex.
- Calculate and coordinate quotations for solutions and services and upload them in SAP Projects assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.
- Contact customers/agents for technical clarifications and provide active technical support to (end) customers before and during the bidding phase.
- Defend offers internally and occasionally locally in support of the Area Sales Manager.
- Offer different alternatives proactively in case of price issues or deviations from specification.
- Support Area Sales Managers on request, e.g. during customer visits to ADB Safegate.
- Conduct Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT).
- Write airfield lighting / VDGS / Tower related standards and methods.
- Contact airfield third‑party suppliers and installation contractors, prepare RFQs, evaluate offers and select the right one for each occasion.
- Prepare gross BOQs (lights, signs, accessories, circuits, CCRs…) for budgetary offers.
- Provide AGL/VDGS/Tower Design support.
- Provide support to other Bid Managers working in the Middle East region.
- Engineer (Aeronautical/Airfield/Airport, Electrical or industrial) or equivalent by experience.
- 5‑7 years of experience in a similar role.
- Knowledge of other Airfield technologies.
- Expert knowledge of ADB Safegate Product & Solution portfolio, including advanced customer services.
- Knowledge of AGL/VDGS/Tower technologies.
- Knowledge of AGL/VDGS/Tower Design and ICAO & FAA Standards.
- Good knowledge of government tender requirements in Africa.
- Good experience and knowledge on framework & Service Level Agreement proposal.
- Experience with SAP.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
