Project Engineer- Industrial Water Treatment
About the Role
Project Engineer – Industrial Water Treatment
Industrial & Energy Sector
5+ Years Experience
Crescent Engineering is seeking a Project Engineer to deliver engineered industrial water treatment systems across the energy, power, petrochemical, and heavy industrial sectors.
This role covers technical and commercial execution of water treatment packages from FEED through commissioning. Our projects typically include Reverse Osmosis (RO), Ultrafiltration (UF), Membrane Bioreactors (M ), Demineralisation (Ion Exchange and EDI), softening systems, chemical dosing, and modular skid-mounted treatment plants.
The Role
You will be responsible for executing projects from detailed engineering through fabrication, FAT, and start-up support. The position requires strong ownership of process intent, hydraulic integrity, membrane performance, and final water quality validation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Reviewing client specifications, water analysis data, and performance guarantees
- Preparing and verifying process calculations including recovery, flux rates, scaling potential, and resin loading capacity
- Developing and reviewing PFDs, P&IDs, control philosophies, and technical requisitions
- Coordinating across process, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation disciplines
- Managing technical interfaces with EPC contractors, vendors, and end users
- Supporting HAZOP participation and documentation control
- Validating system performance during commissioning, including membrane integrity testing, permeate quality verification, regeneration optimisation, and troubleshooting fouling or scaling
You will work on systems where feedwater variability, SDI, salinity, chemical compatibility, and hydraulic stability directly influence long-term performance.
RequirementsCandidate Profile
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in industrial water treatment systems (RO, UF, M , Demin, EDI)
- Experience with skid-mounted modular systems preferred
- Working knowledge of membrane processes, ion exchange, scaling control, and fouling mechanisms
- Familiarity with HAZOP processes and industrial documentation control
- Experience with process modelling tools, 3D design platforms, and advanced Excel
We are looking for engineers who apply structured thinking, understand CAPEX versus OPEX trade-offs, and communicate clearly with EPCs and operators.
