Join our Customer Service team in Dubai as a PLC Engineer to keep our airport automation systems running reliably. You’ll troubleshoot and support PLC/SCADA, deliver controls maintenance and improvements, and perform root-cause analysis to prevent repeat issues, working with operations to meet contractual KPIs while following QMS and HSE standards in a multicultural, shift-based environment.
What are my job responsibilities?- Control and supervision of all PLC/Controls related Operations and Maintenance activities in all Vanderlande Customer Service sites assuring overall target of system availability as well as all other contractual KPIs are met.
- Responsible for major/minor modification of the system w.r.t. high- and low-level controls inclusive of hardware and software (e.g., PLC, Drives, HMIs, SCADA, etc.).
- Troubleshoot all PLC/Controls related issues, including logic, communication, and any hardware pertaining to the PLC system.
- In case of system anomalies, provide technical advice to Management as the basis for operations/project decisions.
- Perform analysis based on MAXIMO data to identify the root cause of technical issues to improve service activities and/or system efficiency.
- Control and assure the quality of work delivered by the operational teams in the field, thereby supporting stable operations, healthy system conditions, contractual KPIs, and successful client audits. Ensure PLC training is rolled out for the relevant field staff to improve quality.
- Perform analysis on issues raised by the operations team, including the Control Room, and suggest appropriate solutions to resolve issues permanently.
- Responsible/accountable for following occupational health, safety, security, environment, and quality requirements.
- Bachelor’s Degree with minimum 5 years of experience / Diploma with minimum of 7 years of experience. Specialization in Instrumentation, Electro-Mechanical, Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar field within the Baggage Handling Industry or Automation.
- Excellent understanding of Siemens PLC (Step 7, TIA), Drives (Sinamics, Micromaster), HMI and SCADA (WinCC) systems is a must.
- Willingness to work in a rotating shift schedule.
- Strong communication skills in English (both written and oral).
- It is important to have worked in different cultural environments and to adapt to cultural work ethics.
