Hyundai Motor and Kia Africa & Middle-east Quality Center (AMQC) is part of the Hyundai Motor Group, which is one of the third biggest car manufacturers worldwide. AMQC was opened in 2015 in Dubai Silicon Oasis, Dubai, UAE with the purpose of ensuring that Hyundai and Kia vehicles meet the demanding standards of the African and Middle-eastern customers. This is a full-time on‑site role for an Automotive Quality Engineer located at our Dubai, UAE office. The Automotive Quality Engineer will be responsible to:

• Evaluate the performance of Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis prototype, pilot, and production vehicles and identify potential customer complaint issues, investigate problem root causes, and propose countermeasures.
• Manage and lead all operational and engineering aspects for full vehicle durability testing including management of driver and technician resources, setting priorities, training, and adherence to safety policies. Develop and lead process improvement actions to increase efficiency of testing and productivity.
• Develop and execute test plans/course, coordinate test vehicles, and interface with affiliates.
• Benchmark competitive vehicles for trends and technology.
• Investigate all kinds of environment/infrastructure in the Middle East & Africa.
• Travel up to 40% domestic and international.
• Create and present clear and concise technical reports.
• Identify major quality issues for the powertrain and Electric vehicle systems and provide engineering analysis and research results to provide technical report.
• Research, procure and maintain new technology, tools, and methods for data acquisition or analysis.
• Work in eco‑friendly car systems such as Hybrid, Plug‑in Hybrid, Electric cars and Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles.
• Work in a team environment as well as independently.

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Electronic/ Automotive/ Aerospace or Mechatronic Engineering.

• 2+ years of experience in automotive quality engineering, workshop engineers, or quality assurance.
• Fluent in English language.
• Experience in New Model development process within automotive/manufacturing industry.
• Experience in problem‑solving techniques such as 8D, FMEA, DOE, and SPC.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes, stamping, welding, painting, injection molding, and assembly processes.
  
  Experience in measurement and testing equipment, and product evaluation and verification techniques.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
• Prefer relevant engineering internships or experience in the automotive industry.
• Understanding of overall vehicle systems and diagnosis of brakes, ADAS controls, chassis controls, HVAC, cooling systems, OBD, engines, emissions, transmissions, engine management system.
• Knowledge of current automotive technology trend (example: basic understanding of autonomous driving).
• Preferred experience but well‑studied and familiar with eco‑friendly car systems such as Hybrid, Plug‑in Hybrid, Electric cars and Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles.
• Basic knowledge to know how to use car scanners and measurement tools in automotive.
• Good project management, flexibility in handling multiple projects and changing priorities.
• Position requires ‘hands‑on’ experience with modern vehicles.
• Good observation and evaluation skills, ability to identify problems, root cause analysis ability and technical writing skills and provide counter measures or resolution.
• Ability to conduct benchmark studies remotely and in person.
• Ability to work in a culturally diverse team environment.
• Competent in the use of Microsoft Office (Excel & PowerPoint).
• Familiar with Middle‑east & Africa customers’ driving habits, roads and driving conditions.
• Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
