The Site Engineer – Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) is responsible for leading and supervising all E&I construction activities on site, ensuring that work is executed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in full compliance with Lamprell, client, and international EPC standards.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and manage electrical and instrumentation construction works in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and project procedures
- Ensure strict compliance with HSE requirements, including Permit‑to‑Work (PTW), LOTO, hazardous area classification, and site safety standards
- Plan, monitor, and control daily site activities to meet project schedule and productivity targets
- Coordinate closely with subcontractors, construction teams, and other disciplines to ensure smooth execution of works
- Review and implement Method Statements, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), and Quality Plans
- Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of:
- Electrical systems: LV/MV cabling, cable trays, termination, earthing, lighting, panels
- Instrumentation systems: field instruments, hook‑up, tubing, impulse lines, cabling, and loop checks
- Conduct toolbox talks, safety briefings, and site inspections, and support incident investigations as required
- Prepare look‑ahead plans, track daily progress, and report issues proactively
- Identify, analyse, and resolve technical and site execution issues to minimize delays and rework
- Ensure construction activities comply with Lamprell quality standards and client requirements
- Experience:
Minimum 10 years’ experience in E&I construction for onshore oil & gas / EPC projects - Education:
Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or related discipline - Strong technical knowledge of:
- Electrical installation, testing, and commissioning (LV/MV)
- Instrumentation installation, hook‑up, calibration, and loop checking
- Familiar with international codes and standards (IEC, ISA, IEEE, API, ISO)
- Proven experience in site supervision, subcontractor management, and construction coordination
- Good understanding of planning, scheduling, reporting, and productivity control
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced EPC project environment
