Program Overview

Graduates will join the business in a Graduate role and engage in all elements of the ADVANCE program. The program is designed to introduce and build essential business and personal skills, helping to enhance the transition from student to professional. Graduates are assigned duties that will provide a broad, well‑rounded learning experience within the field they are joining at Graduate entry level.

The ADVANCE program lasts approximately 24 months. Successful completion is used as an indicator of strong performance in line with other performance ratings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support senior engineers in carrying out structural analysis and detailed design calculations.
  • Contribute to the preparation of design sketches, reports, and technical documentation.
  • Coordinate with CAD/BIM technicians for the production of drawings and models.
  • Actively engage in learning and professional development activities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • The candidate should have completed, or be near completion of, a Master’s degree in Structural Engineering.
  • Working towards professional accreditation (e.g., Chartered Engineer or PE) is desirable.
  • Strong academic background.
  • Basic understanding of structural design principles for bridges and infrastructure structures.
  • Academic familiarity with structural analysis and design software such as MIDAS, ETABS, SAFE, STAAD, or CSI Bridge.
  • Willingness to learn and develop technical and professional skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities; able to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality work.
  • Ability to follow guidance from senior engineers.
  • Candidates must be recent graduates, having graduated within the last 24 months or no later than September 2024, to be eligible for AECOM’s Graduate Program.
  • Successful applicants must have achieved a minimum GPA of 3.2 and above.
  • If you hold a Master’s Degree, it should have started within 12 months of completing your Bachelor’s Degree to ensure continuous education and meet program requirements.
  • Candidates with more than 1 year of postgraduate work experience are not eligible for the program and are encouraged to apply for our professional‑level roles instead.
