Job Purpose

At Base Maintenance, our expert engineers deliver unparalleled service for all aircraft checks, from comprehensive inspections to major system repairs. We handle cabin retrofits, aircraft deliveries, and detailed inspection programs for Airbus A380, A350 and Boeing 777. Our team excels in timely, cost‑effective solutions for A & C checks, engine change, and landing gear changes, along with unscheduled maintenance and pre‑service checks.

To carry out routine maintenance tasks and defect rectification of aircraft as per company and associated regulatory procedures.

• Carry out aircraft maintenance and servicing tasks in compliance with manufacturer and safety procedures. Ensure assigned zones/aircraft are maintained as per the latest revisions of the approved authority Technical Publications such as aircraft documentation, Technical Notices, Quality Notices, and Engineering Procedures Manual.
• Ensure that personal approvals/licences are valid and applicable to aircraft types.
• Handle all off‑aircraft tasks such as spares handling, robberies, hold items etc. in compliance with company procedures and ensure the associated paperwork is complete for full transparency.
• Determine if tooling/equipment used is serviceable and appropriate for the task and use specialised tooling where required. Ensure troubleshooting procedures/tools used for fault rectification are carried out cost‑effectively.
• Carry out component changes as necessary as part of troubleshooting and/or as directed by the immediate supervisor, following AMM, IPC or other manufacturer/vendor documentation.
• Perform all activities in accordance with safety rules and regulations and company procedures, highlighting deficiencies/requirements (whether aircraft or hangar use) via effective reporting tools to support the overall quality improvement process and promote a strong safety culture. Keep work locations clean and maintain excellent housekeeping conditions.
• Maintain effective communication with colleagues including managers and senior engineers to ensure seamless information flow and highlight potential operational issues. Ensure relevant reports on service delays, incidents and accidents are completed in detail, including identification of root causes for rectification through short‑term maintenance planning.
• Manage staff performance using the performance review process and system, ensuring SMART goal setting, interim/annual reviews and development plans for assigned staff.
• Attend training and recurrent modules as required to enhance skills and comply with CAR 145 requirements, ensuring approvals are obtained within 3.5 months of course completion.
• Be available for deployment anywhere within the EK operation, including diversionary airfields, to assist in AOG recovery, aircraft component manufacturer facilities, and to act as an EK representative overseeing final assembly of Emirates aircraft, supervising outsource maintenance work and assisting in the acceptance/delivery process.

• Engineering Maintenance Control
• Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent)
• Degree in Engineering – Aeronautical subjects/Mechanical/Avionics/Electronic/Tech Engineering or Maintenance Engineering Licence.
• 7+ years experience in aviation maintenance as an Aircraft Technician/Mechanic or equivalent with a reputable airline or aircraft maintenance organisation.
• Minimum of 1 aircraft EK type approval.
• Fully conversant with Air Legislation and legal matters that relate to the operation and maintenance of aircraft to international standards.
