We are seeking a Commercial & Contracts Engineer who is responsible for managing all contractual and commercial aspects of projects, ensuring financial efficiency, risk mitigation, and compliance with contract terms. The role involves close coordination with project teams, clients, and subcontractors to protect the company's commercial interests.

Key Responsibilities Contracts Management
  • Review, analyse, and administer contracts (main contracts, subcontracts, and supplier agreements)
  • Identify contractual risks and provide mitigation strategies
  • Ensure compliance with contract terms, conditions, and obligations
  • Handle contract correspondence, notices, and claims
Commercial Management
  • Monitor project budgets, costs, and profitability
  • Prepare cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and financial analysis
  • Evaluate variations, change orders, and claims
  • Support procurement and subcontracting processes
Claims & Variations
  • Prepare, submit, and negotiate variation orders and claims
  • Assess entitlement for extensions of time (EOT) and additional costs
  • Maintain proper documentation to support claims
Cost Control
  • Track project expenditures against budgets
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities
  • Work closely with planning and site teams for cost optimization
Tendering Support
  • Assist in tender preparation, pricing, and commercial evaluations
  • Review tender documents and highlight key commercial risks
Stakeholder Coordination
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams
  • Provide contractual advice to project managers and engineers
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field
  • 3–8 years of experience in construction/engineering projects (GCC experience preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of contract forms such as FIDIC
  • Experience in claims, variations, and cost control
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and commercial reporting tools
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills
