Mechanical Design Engineer | Electric

Job Purpose

Support project execution by developing mechanical designs, drawings, and bills of materials (BOMs) that enable efficient fabrication, assembly, and production processes.

• Attend project launch meetings and review mechanical scope, requirements, and constraints.
• Prepare job files in accordance with departmental procedures.
• Review contractual, technical, and specification documents related to mechanical design.

• Develop mechanical designs including enclosures, sheet metal parts, assemblies, and supporting structures.
• Perform design calculations related to strength, material selection, and thermal considerations where applicable.
• Ensure designs meet project specifications, standards, and manufacturing requirements.

• Create 2D drawings and 3D models using approved design software.
• Prepare fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, and detailed part drawings.
• Apply standard drawing practices including dimensions, tolerances, and material specifications.

• Review and verify mechanical drawings to ensure accuracy, completeness, and manufacturability.
• Ensure all design requirements and constraints are reflected in final drawings.
• Prepare and verify Bills of Materials (BOMs) aligned with design outputs and project requirements.

• Coordinate with production teams to ensure designs are feasible for fabrication and assembly.
• Support production planning by releasing drawings and material requirements in line with schedules.
• Ensure alignment between BOMs, drawings, and production requirements.

• Provide technical support during fabrication, assembly, and testing stages.
• Support resolution of design‑related issues by reviewing and updating designs where required.
• Coordinate with quality teams to ensure compliance with design specifications.

• Ability to obtain updated soft and technical skills related to the job.

• Perform planned activities to meet the operational and development targets as per delivery schedules.
• Utilize resources effectively to achieve objectives within efficient cost and time.
• Provide periodic reports detailing deviation and execution of planned tasks.

• Resolve related problems and escalates any complex operational issues.

• Ensure quality requirements to develop effective quality control processes including specifications for products or processes or related activities.

• Coordinate well‑defined written systems, policies, procedures, and seek automation opportunities as much as possible.

• Comply with related policy and procedures and work instructions.

• Ensure compliance of relevant safety, quality, and environmental management procedures and controls within defined area of work activity to guarantee safety, legislative compliance, and delivery of high‑quality products/services.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or any relevant field.
• 4 to 6 years of work experience.
