R&D Manager - UPR; Unsaturated Polyester Resin

Qualifications

• Masters or PhD in Polymer Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 15 years experience in resin industry, with substantial experience in unsaturated polyester resins or similar thermosetting polymers.
• Experience in leadership or managerial role.

• Lead development of new UPR formulations tailored for specific applications like composites, artificial marble, pipe grade, roofing sheet, boat grade, button grade, general purpose resins, SMC, etc. Innovate new products and optimise existing products for improved performance in properties including heat resistance, stability, flame retardancy and mechanical strength.
• Serve as the primary technical expert for the company. Work with sales and marketing to provide technical consultation to customers, troubleshoot application issues, and conduct product testing.
• Oversee quality control processes for production, testing methods, ensuring products meet international standards. Continuously seek to optimise manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product consistency.
• Responsible for QA for entire product portfolio of the company: develop and execute SOPs related to QA and manage QA team.
• Validate and test existing and new raw materials to improve product performance and reduce costs.
• Manage a team of chemists and laboratory technicians.
