- Strong knowledge of steel fabrication, erection, and bolting works.
- Familiarity with AWS D1.1, AISC, ASTM, BS/EN standards.
- Ability to review shop drawings and connection details, method statements and ITPs. WPS, PQR, and welder qualification documents.
- Competent in visual inspection of welds.
- Checking alignment, plumbness, and tolerances.
- Verifying bolt tightening (torque/tensioning).
- Inspecting fireproofing and protective coatings.
- Coordination with third‑party labs for NDT and material testing.
- Ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and SCR/DSR comments.
- Monitor erection sequences, lifting plans, and safety compliance.
- Identify non‑conformities and issue NCRs/SORs when required.
- Support structural engineers in resolving site issues.
- Prepare daily inspection reports, surveillance notes, and punch lists.
- Review MIRs, WIRs, and NDT reports.
- Maintain proper QA/QC documentation for handover.
- Coordinate with contractor, engineer, and third‑party inspectors.
- Provide clear technical feedback and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Ability to interpret and explain complex structural details on site.
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in civil or mechanical engineering.
- Additional training in steel structures, welding, or NDT is considered an advantage but not mandatory.
- 5–10 years total experience in structural steel works.
- Minimum 2 years with a consultant/supervision team on major projects.
- Experience in airport, industrial, or steel‑intensive projects.
