Health Safety Environment Engineer

The HSE Engineer is responsible for monitoring, implementing, and managing all Health, Safety, and Environmental activities across assigned projects/sites to ensure compliance with local regulations, client requirements, and company HSE standards. The role focuses on promoting a safe working environment, preventing incidents, and driving continuous improvement in HSE performance.

• Implement and monitor project-specific HSE plans, procedures, and safety programs across all project activities.
• Develop and maintain project-specific Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) procedures in line with company and client requirements.
• Ensure effective implementation and monitoring of Traffic Management Plans and site traffic safety measures.
• Ensure compliance with UAE HSE regulations and authority requirements, including Dubai Municipality, Trakhees, DDA, EHS Trakhees, and ADOSH where applicable.
• Conduct risk assessments, Hazard Identification (HAZID), and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) for project activities.
• Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and preparation of detailed incident reports with corrective and preventive actions.
• Conduct HSE meetings, toolbox talks, safety inductions, and awareness campaigns to strengthen safety culture across the workforce.
• Monitor site activities to identify unsafe acts, conditions, and practices, and ensure immediate corrective actions are implemented.
• Coordinate and liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and regulatory authorities on all HSE-related matters.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of inspections, audits, training sessions, permits, and incident reports.
• Supervise and support HSE Officers by providing technical guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback.
• Ensure emergency response procedures and evacuation plans are implemented, communicated, and regularly tested.
• Promote proactive safety behavior and continuous improvement initiatives, including “Don’t Walk By” safety culture practices.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or related field.
• Minimum 5–7 years of HSE experience in construction, infrastructure, industrial, or large-scale projects within the UAE.
• NEBOSH IGC, IOSH, OSHA, or equivalent HSE certifications are mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of UAE HSE regulations, international safety standards, and ISO 45001 / ISO 14001 requirements.
• Experience in incident investigation, risk assessment, and HSE management systems.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and reporting skills.
• Proficient in MS Office and HSE reporting/documentation systems.
