Procurement Engineer

Responsibilities

• Review IFC drawings, BOQs, project specifications and material requirements prior to procurement.
• Handle procurement of materials, equipment and subcontract packages for infrastructure and utilities projects.
• Prepare technical and commercial RFQs in line with project specifications and client requirements.
• Evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations technically and commercially and prepare comparison statements.
• Coordinate with engineering and QA/QC teams for material submittals, approvals and technical compliance.
• Ensure procured materials comply with approved specifications, authority standards and project requirements.
• Liaise with planning and site teams to align procurement activities with project schedules and priorities.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules and subcontract agreements with vendors and subcontractors.
• Monitor procurement schedules, material deliveries and subcontractor mobilization to avoid project delays.
• Follow up with suppliers on fabrication, inspection, production and delivery status of materials and equipment.
• Maintain procurement logs, vendor records, material tracking reports and subcontract documentation.
• Resolve procurement-related technical issues, material shortages and supplier/subcontractor coordination matters.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of UAE experience in infrastructure and utilities contracting projects.
• Strong knowledge of procurement processes, subcontractor handling, material sourcing, and the UAE supplier/vendor market.
• Proficient in technical/commercial evaluation, negotiation, ERP systems, and coordination with project and site teams.
