Biomedical Technician

Responsibilities

• Assume 24‑hour responsibility for the management and operations of the Biomedical Engineering section of the Support Services of the American Hospital Dubai during the absence of the Senior Biomedical Engineer
• Execute planning of new projects and expansion of existing services
• Attend on‑call duties after working hours in case of emergency
• Receive, install, document and hand over demo and backup units from vendors to end users
• Perform medical equipment maintenance requests from Service Requisition Software iService as needed throughout the hospital
• Test all hospital medical equipment
• Ensure compliance of all medical equipment with the hospital’s preventive and corrective maintenance policy
• Prepare and perform training demonstrations and in‑services for designated users
• Implement and comply with department standards, policies, procedures and protocols related to Biomedical Engineering Services
• Secure a safe environment by implementing best practices and Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) scheduling for Emergency Care Research Institute (ECRI), Joint Commission International Accreditation (JCIA), and other industry standards
• Ensure optimal efficiency and continuous safe practices
• Participate in ongoing educational activities related to Biomedical Engineering

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics or equivalent
• UAE Driver’s license preferred
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in maintenance and management of medical equipment, preferably in a healthcare environment
• Knowledge of current regulatory and safety requirements
• Ability to write and speak in English
