Sales Engineer – Middle East
The Sales Engineer will play a crucial role in driving the company’s growth in the Middle East for the hydraulic services market, combining technical expertise with strong sales and relationship‑building skills to achieve targets and expand the client base.
Responsibilities- Generate enquiries from the assigned territory and clientele.
- Identify and develop profitable opportunities for the Hydraulics Projects Division within the Middle East market.
- Develop and present service and engineering solutions as part of pre‑sales activities in conjunction with the operations team.
- Manage and interpret customer requirements through personal meetings and communication.
- Prepare technical sales proposals.
- Conduct techno‑commercial negotiations.
- Adhere to the processes for proposal and contract management.
- Conduct contract or award reviews in line with proposals and statements of work.
- Achieve desired sales in line with agreed individual KPIs and maintain cash‑flow forecasts.
- Meet or exceed sales targets set by the company and maintain a proactive sales plan.
- Assist with hydraulic services sales forecasting and issue monthly reports summarising current and upcoming sales activity.
- Actively promote completion of customer feedback reports.
- Work closely with the operations team to ensure development schedules and deliveries are met.
- Assist in developing the hydraulic project business‑development strategy for the Middle East and other regions.
- Commit to continuous improvement in quality, health, safety and environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (additional electrical/electronic qualifications or specialization in fluid power an added advantage).
- Minimum 8–10 years of extensive experience in sales and marketing of hydraulic services, preferably in the marine and offshore hydraulics industry.
- Experience in hydraulic engineering with a focus on marine and offshore hydraulics.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven track record in a service role within the hydraulic industry.
- In‑depth knowledge and working experience with major hydraulic product brands (Parker, Bosch Rexroth, Hagglunds, Eaton, Kawasaki, Staffa, Sauer, Danfoss, Linde, Hawe, Oil Gear, etc.).
- Ability to read and interpret manuals and hydraulic schematics.
- Knowledge of international hydraulic standards.
- Expertise in open‑loop and closed‑loop hydrostatic transmissions for mobile, offshore and marine hydraulic systems.
- Familiarity with pressure testing and flushing of hydraulic systems.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Self‑starting, highly motivated and driven to succeed in competitive situations.
