Structural Shop Drawing Engineer

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and detailed structural shop drawings (including reinforcement details, embedments, connections, sections, and assembly drawings) based on architectural and structural construction drawings, project specifications, and local International codes.
• Review design intent drawings, identify discrepancies, and propose practical solutions for construction and fabrication.
• Use AutoCAD, Revit, or other BIM engineering software to create, modify, and update shop drawings efficiently.
• Coordinate with consultants, main contractors, subcontractors, and site teams to resolve technical queries, RFIs, implement design changes, and ensure drawings comply with project requirements.
• Conduct self‑checks and cross‑checks for dimensions, reinforcement layout, clearances, and constructability to minimize errors on site.
• Maintain drawing archives, revision control, and proper documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support material takeoffs, as‑built drawings, and technical submissions as required.

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Construction Engineering.
• Minimum 2–3 years of professional experience in structural shop drawing preparation for buildings or infrastructure projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; working knowledge of Revit is a strong advantage.
• Familiarity with international codes (ACI, BS, Eurocode, or Emirate standards) and construction practices.
• Ability to read and understand structural design drawings thoroughly.
• Strong attention to detail, good time management, and ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Good communication skills in English (written and verbal).

Willing to work in Dubai, UAE for a period of 3 to 5 years.
