Material/Civil Lab technician
A Material Testing Technician will conduct routine laboratory and field tests, including Sieve Analysis, Atterberg Limits, Proctor Test, Field Density Test, FDT, and Concrete Compressive Strength.
Responsibilities- Conduct routine laboratory and field tests.
- Sample Collection:
Travel to various construction sites to collect and label soil, water, and material samples accurately. - Data Recording:
Maintain precise, legible, and organized records of all test results and observations. - Equipment Maintenance:
Perform regular calibration and cleaning of laboratory equipment to ensure accuracy and safety. - Compliance:
Strictly follow safety protocols and ensure all testing aligns with QA/QC standards. - Reporting:
Assist the Lab Manager or Engineer in preparing technical reports and summaries for client review.
Ability to lift and carry heavy samples up to 25kg-50kg frequently; comfortable working in outdoor site environments often involving heat, dust, and uneven terrain; capability to stand for long durations and perform repetitive manual tasks.
Education & ExperienceEducation:
Diploma in Civil Engineering or a related technical certification.
Experience:
[X] years of experience in a Civil/Material testing laboratory. Technical Knowledge:
Familiarity with laboratory testing software and standard testing procedures (e.g., ASTM, ACI).
Soft Skills:
Strong attention to detail, basic mathematical skills, and the ability to work effectively within a team. Language:
Basic proficiency in English (written and verbal) for reporting purposes.
