Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit material submittals in line with project specifications and contract requirements.
- Coordinate with suppliers to obtain technical data, samples, test certificates and compliance documents.
- Review materials for compliance with specifications, drawings and authority requirements before submission.
- Liaise with consultants and clients to obtain approvals and close comments.
- Coordinate material approvals with procurement schedules and construction sequences.
- Identify long‑lead materials and highlight risks to project teams.
- Support the procurement team in technical evaluation of suppliers and materials.
- Initiate and coordinate Material Inspection Requests (MIR) on site.
- Verify delivered materials against approved submittals and specifications.
- Conduct joint inspections with consultants and ensure timely approvals, ensuring only approved materials are released for site use.
- Ensure material testing is carried out as per ITP and project requirements, coordinate with third‑party laboratories, review test results, identify non‑compliance and initiate corrective actions, and ensure proper documentation of all test reports and approvals.
- Identify and report non‑conforming materials, raise and close NCRs related to materials in coordination with QA/QC team, support root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.
- Maintain material submittal logs, approval registers and tracking systems, ensuring proper record‑keeping of warranties, certifications and approvals and providing regular updates on material status to project management.
- Coordinate with QA/QC, Procurement, Construction and Planning teams, support site engineers on material‑related technical issues and compliance, and participate in technical meetings with consultants and stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
- 6–9 years of experience in civil/infrastructure projects within contracting companies (UAE/GCC preferred).
- Strong experience in material submittals, approvals and QA/QC processes.
- Familiarity with standards and specifications such as ASTM, BS, AASHTO and local authority requirements.
- Experience in coordinating with third‑party testing laboratories.
- Understanding of QA/QC procedures including MIRs, ITPs and inspection workflows.
- Proficiency in MS Office and document control systems.
- Strong coordination, analytical and reporting skills.
