Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading cost consultancy, supporting a major aviation project. This is a key role within a high‑profile programme, requiring strong post‑contract expertise, commercial acumen, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities
  • Lead post‑contract commercial management across major aviation infrastructure works packages.
  • Administer contracts (e.g., NEC, FIDIC or similar) ensuring compliance and effective risk management.
  • Manage valuations, variations, change control, and final accounts.
  • Provide accurate cost reporting, forecasting and financial control.
  • Assess and negotiate contractor claims and variations.
  • Support procurement activities and contribute to commercial strategy.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors and project stakeholders to ensure successful delivery.
  • Mentor and support junior team members where required.
  • Ensure all commercial activities align with company standards and client expectations.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 10 years experience in quantity surveying, ideally within infrastructure or aviation projects.
  • MRICS – Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, status held for at least 5 years.
  • Proven experience working within a cost consultancy environment.
  • Strong post‑contract experience is essential.
  • In‑depth knowledge of standard forms of contract (NEC preferred).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage large complex projects and multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical and communication skills.
  • High level of commercial awareness and attention to detail.
  • Experience on large‑scale aviation or major infrastructure programmes.
  • Previous client‑facing consultancy experience.
  • Leadership or team management experience.
