Job Purpose
Island Tower Electromechanical is seeking a competent Mechanical Site Engineer to manage and execute mechanical works for district cooling projects across the UAE. The role focuses on supervising installation activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications, maintaining safety standards, and delivering projects on schedule.
Key Responsibilities- Site Execution Supervision – Supervise installation of district cooling piping networks including pre-insulated chilled water pipes, both above and below ground; oversee installation, alignment, and commissioning readiness of pumps, heat exchangers, valves, strainers, and ETS (Energy Transfer Stations). Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with approved shop drawings, method statements, and project specifications.
- Project Coordination – Coordinate with civil, electrical, and instrumentation teams for smooth execution of works; liaise with consultants, clients, and subcontractors for inspections, approvals, and technical clarifications; attend and contribute to project progress and coordination meetings.
- Quality Assurance & Control – Implement QA/QC procedures in line with company standards and project requirements; prepare and follow up on RFIs, MIRs, and inspection requests (IRs); ensure proper material storage, handling, and traceability at site.
- Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) – Enforce company HSE policies and UAE regulatory requirements; conduct toolbox talks and ensure compliance with safe work practices; report and mitigate unsafe conditions, incidents, and near misses.
- Testing & Commissioning – Assist in pressure testing, flushing, and chemical cleaning of chilled water systems; support pre‑commissioning and commissioning activities, including system startup; ensure systems are fully prepared for inspection and handover.
- Documentation & Reporting – Maintain daily progress reports, manpower records, and site logs; assist in preparation of as‑built drawings and O&M manuals; track progress against project schedule and report any delays or risks.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 4–8 years of experience in district cooling, HVAC, or infrastructure projects.
- Proven experience in chilled water piping systems and ETS installation.
- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and technical documents.
- Valid UAE driving license (mandatory).
