Senior Project Engineer - BMS

Job Purpose:

To liaise with the Contractors, Suppliers, Principals, Architects, Clients and ensure timely completion of design works and project programme on site in an organized and cost‑effective manner in accordance with the approved design quality standards, within the agreed time frame to meet stakeholder expectations and maintain continuity of business.

• Obtain the drawings of the project and assess the material requirement accurately and ascertain the material for procurement.
• Carry out procurement of material ensuring availability of the right quality within the agreed time and in a most cost‑effective manner.
• Coordinate with all Principals, Architects, Mall Management, Clients for obtaining approval on all project‑related activities.
• Prepare accurate project programmes in coordination with the Project Manager, clearly indicating time frames and activities involved, and monitor progress against the plan. Take corrective action where required through effective coordination with the client, contractors, etc.
• Maintain and manage effective communication with contractors and suppliers to ensure updates and follow‑through at all stages of the project.
• Supervise the site regularly, provide updates on the progress of the project and attend to all technical and engineering problems, additional manpower requirements, drawing changes, etc., in an effective and timely manner, thereby achieving client requirements and quality standards.
• Conduct quality checks on works carried out to ensure that the products meet all client specifications and coordinate with the estimation department on variation and for progress billing, final invoice.
• Receive as‑built drawings, manuals, keys, etc., on project completion and issue the completion certificate to the contractor.
• Ensure proper dismantling and demobilisation of the site, conduct snagging and complete the close‑out procedures.
• Manage and ensure that all health and safety procedures are in place by the contractor and are implemented on site.
• Research alternative and cost‑effective hardware combinations/solutions to ensure competitiveness in the market and continued customer patronage, as applicable.

• Guide and motivate subordinates to enhance performance and produce quality work and ensure that they are continuously developed for higher‑level roles.

• 5 to 6 years of relevant work experience.
• Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture.
• Attention to detail and concern for quality.
