Wire Harness Design Engineer

Micropolis is seeking a highly skilled Wire Harness Design Engineer, who will design, develop, and integrate complex networks of wires, connectors, and terminals powering systems from engine and powertrain to infotainment and advanced safety.

• System Design & Layout – Create detailed 2D schematics and 3D routing layouts for vehicle wiring systems ensuring they fit within physical constraints of the vehicle body.
• Component Selection – Define and select electrical components, including connectors, terminals, fuses, and relays, based on electrical load and environmental requirements.
• Circuit Analysis – Perform technical calculations such as voltage drop, thermal derating, and fuse sizing to ensure system reliability and safety.
• Cross‑Functional Collaboration – Work closely with mechanical engineers to locate electrical items and ensure harness routing does not interfere with other vehicle systems.
• Manufacturing Support – Create manufacturing‑ready documentation, including formboard drawings and work instructions, to support assembly and installation.
• Testing & Validation – Conduct continuity, pull‑force, and environmental tests to verify designs meet industry standards such as IPC WHMA‑A‑620.

• CAD & Design Software – Proficiency in industry‑standard tools (AutoCAD Electrical, Inventor).
• Electrical Fundamentals – Strong understanding of electrical principles, CANBUS systems, and grounding strategies.
• Compliance Knowledge – Familiarity with automotive standards and regulatory requirements for wiring and safety.

• Education:
  
  Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Mechatronics Engineering.
• Experience:
  
  3‑5 years of hands‑on experience in harness design.
