Responsibilities
Supervise daily offshore crane operations to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable lifting activities. Monitor the condition and performance of crane systems, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components, under marine environmental conditions. Oversee routine and preventive maintenance inspections and certification of offshore lifting equipment. Ensure all crane systems comply with offshore industry standards and are maintained in optimal working condition. Enforce adherence to marine safety protocols, lifting procedures, and international regulations such as LOLER, API RP 2D, and IMCA guidelines.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of inspections, maintenance logs, and lifting certifications. Lead and coordinate crane operators, riggers, and maintenance personnel onboard the vessel or offshore facility. Allocate tasks effectively and ensure all crane activities are carried out safely and within schedule. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to crane equipment and lifting operations in a timely manner. Collaborate with team members to develop safe and practical solutions to operational challenges.
Manage multiple crane‑related tasks and support project timelines during offshore campaigns or marine construction activities. Liaise with marine deck and engineering teams to ensure alignment with overall project and vessel operations. Prepare clear and concise reports on crane usage, performance, breakdowns, and maintenance activities. Keep thorough documentation for audits, compliance reviews, and future operational planning.
- 5+ years of experience in offshore or marine crane operations with some experience in a leadership role.
- Good knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic crane systems.
- Experience in crane inspections, maintenance, and compliance with offshore standards.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and coordinate a team.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve crane‑related issues quickly.
- Good communication skills for reporting and keeping accurate records.
- Familiar with using maintenance management systems for tracking crane activities.
- Able to manage multiple tasks and work in a fast‑paced offshore environment.

Diploma or degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Marine Engineering, or a related field.
