Leads the discipline production engineering team drafting squad leaders, material controllers, etc. to meet project fabrication requirements. Technically capable in strategizing and delivering the discipline level fabrication efforts for complex EPIC projects. Manages inter and intra functional interfaces at discipline level for the fabrication portion of the project with minimal guidance. Responsible for optimal utilization and development of the discipline team assigned on project.
KeyTasks and Responsibilities
- Understand the overall project scope of work to lead and guide the discipline production engineering team to meet project fabrication deliverables in line with the fabrication sequence schedule.
- Identify discipline constructability requirements.
- Issue the approved workpack index and ensure all deliverables, drawings, and materials are available to issue workpacks. Issue workpacks, assembly checklist, and manage change management activities such as MOC, SQS, TQ, VO, subcon RFQs, and SWOs.
- Manage the discipline level project fabrication progress within the schedule and productivity within the targeted budget in coordination with the Project Operations Engineer.
- Support the Project Operations Engineer in managing inter and intra functional interfaces and project reporting requirements such as AFC estimate review, subcon coordination, project status reporting, developing fabrication sequence, and conducting constructability reviews.
- Lead discipline level constructability reviews, including resolution of construction problems with intra and inter function interfaces (e.g., out of sequence installation of a valve due to delivery delays).
- Support the Fabrication Bid coordination efforts on assigned bid projects in support of the Fab Bid Coordinator, including preparing fab adder, fab PMT, reviewing specifications, and raising clarifications.
- Interface for discipline level requirements with key project personnel from various functions such as Engineering, SCM, Quality, Cost Control, Marine Operations, Hook-up, etc. to meet priorities and schedule dates for project fabrication requirements (e.g., attending expediting meetings to communicate material delivery priorities).
- Review and communicate Marine deliverable requirements to meet the fabrication plan sequence.
- Ensure necessary documentation and compliance with procedural requirements throughout the project phases (e.g., adhere to workpack process, follow change management process, document and communicate lessons learned to relevant stakeholders at every phase of the project to avoid recurrence, and support issuance of the project close‑out report).
- Establish productive working relationships with client and third‑party representatives.
- Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with a minimum of 2nd class honours. - Experience:
Over 10 years in the Petrochemical/Oil & Gas or similar construction industry as a discipline engineer, with adaptation to fabrication and offshore module work.
- Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with 1st class honours.
