We are seeking an experienced Lead Electrical Engineer to lead the design, engineering, and execution support of electrical systems for large-scale industrial and infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing electrical engineering activities, coordinating multidisciplinary interfaces, ensuring compliance with applicable standards, and delivering high-quality engineering solutions throughout FEED and Detailed Design phases.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES- Lead electrical engineering and design activities for industrial and infrastructure projects.
- Manage the preparation and review of electrical design deliverables including:
Power system studies (load flow, short circuit, protection coordination, arc flash analysis), Single line diagrams (SLDs) and electrical schematics, Electrical load lists and power demand balance, Cable sizing, routing, and termination design, Electrical equipment specifications (transformers, switch gear, MCCs, UPS systems, generators), Earthing and grounding system design, Lightning protection system design, Lighting design calculations and layouts, Power distribution system design and optimization - Ensure compliance with applicable international codes, standards, and project specifications.
- Coordinate with Process, Mechanical, Civil, Structural, Instrumentation, and HSE teams to ensure integrated electrical system design.
- Review and approve engineering contractor and vendor documents including drawings, datasheets, and technical submissions.
- Lead technical discussions with clients, consultants, licensors, and third-party stakeholders.
- Participate in design reviews, HAZID, HAZOP, constructability reviews, and value engineering workshops.
- Support procurement activities including technical bid evaluations and vendor document reviews.
- Provide engineering support during installation, testing, pre-commissioning, and commissioning phases.
- Mentor and supervise electrical engineers and designers.
- Ensure project schedules, quality requirements, and engineering deliverables are achieved within approved budgets.
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent engineering discipline.
- Master's Degree is an advantage.
- Minimum 15+ years of electrical engineering experience in industrial, infrastructure, or energy projects.
- Minimum 5 years in a Lead Electrical Engineer role.
- Strong experience in FEED and Detailed Design (DD) project execution.
- Solid knowledge of power generation, transmission, distribution, and industrial power systems.
- Familiarity with international electrical standards such as IEC, IEEE, NEC, and other relevant codes.
- Experience in electrical system studies including load flow, short circuit analysis, protection coordination, and arc flash studies.
- Strong knowledge of electrical equipment design including transformers, switch gear, MCCs, UPS systems, generators, and related systems.
- Understanding of earthing, lightning protection, hazardous area classification, and electrical safety systems.
- Familiarity with engineering software such as ETAP, DIgSILENT Power Factory, SKM Power Tools, and AutoCAD.
- Experience in brownfield and greenfield project environments (Preferred).
- Exposure to EPC contractor and PMC project execution environments (Preferred).Strong understanding of construction support, testing, commissioning, and site troubleshooting activities (Preferred).
