Senior Mechanical Estimator

Responsibilities

• Develop accurate and competitive cost estimates for complex mechanical systems encompassing HVAC plumbing and fire protection by meticulously analyzing project plans, specifications and scope documents.
• Lead the bidding process by preparing comprehensive proposals including detailed breakdowns of labor, materials, equipment and subcontractor costs, ensuring alignment with project requirements and company profitability goals.
• Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers and clients to clarify project scope, identify potential risks and optimize cost‑saving opportunities throughout the estimation phase.
• Source and negotiate pricing with vendors and subcontractors, fostering strong relationships to secure competitive bids and ensure the timely procurement of materials and services.
• Review, analyse MEP drawings, specifications and complete tender documents.
• Perform quantity take‑off using software like AutoCAD, Plan Swift, Candy etc.
• Prepare accurate cost estimates, BOQ and proposals.
• Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors for quotations.
• Support and manage tender process with technical and commercial inputs.
• Maintain updated project cost databases and documentation.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field.
• Candidates are familiar with local codes, standards and methods of measurement.
• Professional Estimator Certification (e.g., AACE International) is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 12‑15 years of progressive experience in mechanical estimating, with a proven track record on large‑scale commercial and industrial projects.
• Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection) and their installation processes.
• Software knowledge of CCS Candy, Plan Swift is mandatory.
