Job Summary
Our client, an industrial contracting company, is looking for a Technical Manager – Structure to be based in Dubai. The role involves developing and delivering structural concrete design solutions and authority‑compliant structural drawings by coordinating with the drafting team, managing statutory submission processes, and liaising with relevant authorities, clients, and engineers to secure timely approvals.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and develop structural concrete design solutions in accordance with project requirements, applicable codes, standards and authority regulations.
- Conduct structural design reviews, verifying calculations, design assumptions, compliance and constructability prior to submission and issue for construction.
- Supervise and coordinate the Structural Draftsman drafting team to produce accurate structural drawings, details and schedules aligned with the approved design intent.
- Perform quality checks and control measures on all structural deliverables (design calculations, drawings, submissions), ensuring accuracy, completeness and consistency before external issuance.
- Manage authority submission processes for structural packages, ensuring documentation is complete, compliant and submitted within required timelines.
- Liaise and coordinate effectively with authorities, clients and consultants to address technical queries, clarifications and comments, and to achieve timely approvals.
- Arrange and attend meetings with authorities, clients, engineers and consultants to support reviews, present technical justification and close out approval comments.
- Develop and propose value‑engineering initiatives to optimize cost, material usage and construction methodology without compromising quality, safety or authority compliance.
- Provide technical guidance and ongoing support to the site execution team, including resolving site‑related structural issues, responding to RFIs, and issuing necessary clarifications or revisions.
- Maintain proper records of submissions, revisions, approvals and correspondence related to structural design and authority interactions.
- Education:
Degree in Civil Engineering. - Licenses/Authority Approvals:
Accreditation for authorities and licenses from authorities (if any). - Experience:
Total 10–20 years, with at least 10 years in contracting or warehousing industry in UAE/GCC. - Technical skills:
Civil Engineering, project/business design, estimation, cost control. - Behavioural skills:
Effective communication, leadership, problem solving, team player. - Software/Digital tools:
Etabs, Prokon, Safe, Staadpro, manual calculations.
