Position: Engineering Type Instructor (B1)

Situated within the state‑of‑the‑art Emirates Engineering Maintenance Centre, our college offers comprehensive training in basic and aircraft‑type maintenance through advanced facilities and hands‑on workshops led by expert instructors.

Position Overview

As an Engineering Type Instructor B1 you will deliver aircraft type rating and specialised engine overhaul instruction in accordance with Emirates Airlines procedures and applicable regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver Aircraft Type Rating and specialised Engine Overhaul instruction in accordance with Emirates Airlines procedures and applicable regulations.
  • Conduct Engine Overhaul training for the Emirates Engine Maintenance Centre (EEMC) and Engine Shop.
  • Conduct aircraft type maintenance training.
  • Develop and prepare Training Needs Analysis (TNA), training materials and practical training logbooks that support training delivery to meet Emirates needs in accordance with the applicable curriculum and regulations.
  • Act as an examiner, invigilator and practical assessor as per CAR PART 147 requirements and maintain instructor qualifications in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct Aircraft Type Cat B1, B2, and C training, general familiarisation courses, cabin maintenance, specialised engine maintenance overhaul, borescope inspection courses and all other courses such as Emirates Engineering Procedures, Human Factors in Aircraft Maintenance, UAE Aviation Legislation, Electrical Wire Interconnected System, Fuel Tanks Safety Systems, etc., for licensed aircraft engineers, engineering mechanics, technicians and support services personnel to meet operational requirements.
  • Deliver Basic aircraft maintenance engineering training modules 1 to 17 as per respective categories as and when required.
  • Develop, organise new courses and review/update existing courses assigned by the Engineering Type Training Manager in accordance with the Engineering Procedures Manual (EPM), Maintenance Organization Exposition (MOE) and Maintenance Training Organization Exposition (MTOE) procedures.
  • Ensure that course materials, training notes, training aids and presentations are of high quality keeping in line with GCAA CAR 66/147 and EASA Part 66/145/147 requirements and other international aircraft maintenance training standards.
  • Develop new and review/update existing examination questions, papers and question banks assigned by Engineering Examination Manager and Engineering Type Training Manager in accordance with EPM, MOE and MTOE procedures.
  • Analyse EK fleet type courses examination results and identify any required corrective actions.
  • Conduct Engine run‑up training, classroom and practical simulator sessions as required.
  • Conduct classroom training as per applicable Aircraft Maintenance Manual (AMM), Emirates Procedures Manuals, EPMs and local airport authority directives.
  • Familiarise with conducting On‑Line Distance Learning Synchronous (DLS) training through MS Teams.
  • Invigilate basic and type training examinations.
Qualifications
  • Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or holding Aircraft Maintenance Engineers License (B1) with 8+ years of experience in an engine maintenance/workshop environment.
  • Experience in engine maintenance training courses on at least two engine types including theory & practical (GE90, GP7200, RR‑Trent 900/RR‑Trent XWB).
  • Experience in engine overhaul, including disassembly and assembly, as well as engine maintenance, repair and inspection activities.
  • Ability to use Engine Manuals, Overhaul Manuals and Aircraft Maintenance Manual (AMM).
  • Thorough knowledge of CAR/PART 66 and 147/145/21 and M Aviation regulations.
  • Knowledge of levels of training as per CAR/PART 66 and ATA 104 requirements.
  • Attended Train The Trainer course or equivalent.
