Job OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Design & Estimation Engineer specializing in Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants. In this role, you will be responsible for bridging the gap between engineering concept and commercial reality. You will design efficient, compliant wastewater treatment processes and prepare accurate techno-commercial proposals, cost estimations, drawings and tender submissions.
The ideal candidate possesses strong technical knowledge of physical, chemical, and biological treatment technologies alongside a sharp commercial acumen for material and execution costing.
Key Responsibilities 1. Process & Engineering Design- Develop conceptual, basic, and detailed engineering designs for wastewater treatment systems (e.g., MB , M , S , RO, Ultrafiltration, and Effluent Treatment Plants).
- Prepare Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs),
Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), hydraulic profiles, and general arrangement drawings. - Perform process calculations, mass balance calculations, and equipment sizing (pumps, blowers, clarifiers, dosing systems).
- Ensure all designs comply with local environmental regulations and international engineering standards.
- Analyze tender documents, RFQs (Request for Quotes), and client specifications thoroughly to identify the optimal technical solution.
- Prepare comprehensive Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and Bill of Materials (BOM) for electro-mechanical equipment, piping, structural, and instrumentation components.
- Source quotations from vendors and subcontractors; evaluate them technically and commercially to optimize project margins.
- Draft complete, high-quality techno-commercial proposals, including technical write-ups, layout drawings, and precise cost estimates.
- Liaise closely with the Sales, Project Management, and Procurement teams to ensure seamless transition from proposal to execution.
- Attend technical clarification meetings with clients, consultants, and contractors to justify design selections and cost variations.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Environmental, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering (with a heavy focus on environmental/water processes).
- Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of proven experience in the design and cost estimation of water/wastewater treatment plants.
- CAD: Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD (2D/3D modeling is a plus).
- Simulation: Familiarity with process simulation software (e.g., Bio Win, GPS-X) or any specialized RO projection software (e.g., WAVE, ROSA) is highly desirable.
- Office Tools: Advanced mastery of MS Excel for complex cost-modeling formulas and data analysis.
- Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of biological treatment processes (activated sludge, aerobic/anaerobic), chemical dosing, filtration, and sludge dewatering systems.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional analytical thinking, sharp eye for detail, strong negotiation skills, and clear technical writing capability.
- Competitive salary and performance-based project incentives.
- Comprehensive health, life, and wellness benefits.
- Transition opportunities into Senior Process Design roles, Estimation & Proposals Team Lead
