Planning Engineer; Roads and Infrastructure

Job Description

AECOM is seeking an experienced Planning Engineer for major Roads and Infrastructure and bridges projects located in Dubai.

• Develop and maintain Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) for small to medium-sized projects.
• Analyze project financial data and identify potential impacts on project outcomes.
• Assist in establishing project baseline data using drawings and specifications.
• Conduct cost and schedule variance analyses to ensure project efficiency.
• Collect and analyze progress data, reviewing performance trends to support decision-making.
• Apply earned value, scope control, and change management methodologies.
• Analyze manpower, labor hours, and labor costs against budget limitations.
• Track purchase order and subcontract commitments and expenditures.
• Support the project reporting process and participate in project cost review meetings.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure alignment of project goals and timelines.
• Assist in trend analysis and forecasting to optimize project performance.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of planning processes and tools.

• Minimum of 8+ years’ experience in the Planning/Project Controls field; experience on major transportation programs preferred.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• Advanced knowledge of Oracle Primavera P6 Project Management Software.
• Ability to develop, monitor, and control schedules.
• Hands‑on working knowledge of WBS coding structure, cost/schedule variance analysis, earned value management (EVMS), project trend analysis, contract change and claims.
• Working knowledge of Time Impact Analysis techniques.
