Position: Open Ended Hedge Fund Accountant, AVP

Overview

We are currently looking for an Associate Vice President (Account Manager) to support our growing operations in the Fund Administration department.

This role requires excellent management of client deliverables.

The Account Manager/AVP will work with a team of Account Managers, Senior Fund Accountants and Fund Accountants involved in NAV calculation, Shareholder Reporting and Compliance from the Dubai office, Apex Global Support Centers or other Apex locations. The role includes planning, scheduling and managing daily client deliverables and coordinating with Global Support Centers. It also involves taking part in the take-on process for new clients, including reviewing PPMs and agreements, setting up NAV reporting packages, and initial NAV calculations.

Job Responsibilities
  • Assist in the NAV preparation and review process for Hedge Fund clients, including managing the entire process
  • Ensure timely delivery of client-specific reporting requirements
  • Plan, schedule and manage daily workflows of all client deliverables within the team
  • Reconcile investment portfolios, dividends and interest, corporate actions, and investor capital activity
  • Understand and apply performance fee calculations, including management and related fees
  • Coordinate with Apex support centers as required
  • Accrue/amortize daily or monthly non-security related fee accruals (management, performance, and financing)
  • Prepare/review subscription and redemption packs and communicate with investors
  • Prepare and review financial statements; liaise with auditors and manage the audit process
  • Ensure timely preparation of distribution calculations and tax statements; liaise with fund tax advisors
  • Monitor and review client payments
  • Respond to client inquiries in line with Apex service standards
  • Ensure regulatory and fund-specific compliance
  • Support SSAE 18 control implementation with internal and external auditors
Additional Responsibilities
  • Actively cross-sell Apex services to clients
  • Develop and optimize global client relationships, offerings, productivity and profitability
  • Ensure adherence to documented procedures and policies
  • Support integration of large fund administration mandates; work on ad hoc internal/global projects
  • Be the first point of contact for internal/external audit, tax returns and compliance queries
  • Facilitate information flow between Senior Management and Operations
Skills Required / Qualifications
  • 7-9 years’ experience in a similar role with the above functions
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work to agreed timelines
  • Understanding of US GAAP & IFRS reporting for various fund structures
  • Knowledge of complex fund structures and fund accounting; ability to act as SME
  • Strong PC skills (Word, Excel, Macros in Excel);
    Paxus experience is an advantage
  • Educational qualifications: M.com/MBA – Finance/CFA; ACCA/CA is an advantage
  • Knowledge of financial securities (Equity, Bonds, Futures, Options, Sukuks, CDS, CFDs) and accounting treatment
  • Commercial awareness and client service focus
  • Leadership and supervisory experience; strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to automate processes and familiarity with KYC/AML requirements
  • Experience with Paxus is a major plus; strong problem-solving and multitasking abilities
  • Willingness to work additional hours and perform under pressure
