Finance Director; FD

Luxury Recruit is partnering with a leading retail company in Dubai to appoint a Finance Director (FD) to oversee and drive the financial strategy and operations of the business. As a key member of the senior leadership team, the FD will be responsible for financial planning, reporting, compliance, and business performance analysis. This role requires a commercially driven finance leader with deep expertise in the retail industry and an understanding of the Middle East market.

• Strategic Financial Leadership
  • Develop and execute the company’s financial strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaborate with the CEO and executive team to drive profitability, efficiency, and sustainable growth.
• Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling to support business planning.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to optimize business performance and manage risks.
• Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
• Maintain compliance with UAE financial regulations, tax laws, and international accounting standards (IFRS).
• Oversee external audits and tax filings.
• Cash Flow & Working Capital Management
  • Manage liquidity and working capital to ensure financial stability and support business growth.
  • Implement cash flow strategies to enhance financial efficiency and optimize resource allocation.
• Develop and strengthen internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Identify financial risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Business Partnering & Strategic Decision Support
  • Provide financial leadership and guidance to business units, supporting investment and expansion decisions.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO and executive team.
• Lead and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of performance, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Ensure the finance function supports the company’s commercial and operational objectives.

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (MBA, ACA, ACCA, or CPA preferred).
• Minimum of 10 years of finance experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role (preferably in the retail sector).
• Strong understanding of the retail industry, including pricing strategies, inventory management, and multi-channel retailing in the Middle East.
• Proven expertise in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and risk management in a dynamic, high-growth environment.
• Hands-on experience in cash flow management, working capital optimization, and financial system implementation.
• In-depth knowledge of UAE financial regulations, tax laws, and IFRS reporting standards.
• Strong leadership skills with experience in managing and developing finance teams.
• Ability to effectively communicate financial data to non-financial stakeholders and present insights clearly.
• Strategic mindset with a strong business acumen and a focus on driving growth and operational efficiency.
• Fluency in English is required;
  Arabic language skills are an advantage.
