Senior Accountant - Tax Back Office

The Senior Tax Accountant plays a critical role in supporting the Al-Futtaim Group's Tax Back‑Office with operational matters, including the preparation of Direct and Indirect Tax Returns. This position requires close collaboration with Group Tax to ensure compliance, accuracy, and efficiency in tax-related activities. The role also involves maintaining updated tax calendars, supporting audits, and enhancing tax processes through automation and process improvements.

Prepare monthly VAT and WHT returns for different regions and process for submission to governing bodies, ensuring liability settlement. Maintain regulatory compliance and update the monthly calendar and tracker to ensure correct and timely filing of all tax returns based on country-specific tax calendars. Review complex income tax returns and coordinate with tax authorities as needed.

Support the Tax Back‑Office with tax provision tracking and manage tax balances on general ledger. Ensure all tax documents are collected in a central database and manage information requests effectively. Support tax audits by providing coordination support to the Tax Manager.

Provide active support in resolving VAT system issues, coordinating with IT and Assistant Financial Controller. Support streamlining processes through automation efforts, contributing to efficiency improvements. Contribute to business excellence initiatives and collaborate with stakeholders to enhance solutions and processes.
