Job Description:
As the Chief Accountant, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial health and integrity of the organization. You will be responsible for managing and coordinating all aspects of the accounting function, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and providing accurate financial information to support strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and present accurate and timely financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with local accounting standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with relevant departments to develop budgets and financial forecasts.
- Monitor budget variances and provide analysis to support management decisions.
- Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure liquidity and financial stability.
- Implement effective cash management procedures.
- Ensure compliance with local tax regulations and oversee the preparation of tax returns.
- Work with external auditors and tax authorities as required.
- Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide professional development opportunities.
- Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Continuously assess and enhance internal control processes.
- Provide insightful financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Identify and communicate key financial trends and opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is highly desirable.
- Proven experience in a senior accounting role, preferably as a Chief Accountant or Finance Manager.
- Strong knowledge of local accounting standards and regulations in the UAE.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Advanced proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
