About the RoleIn this role, you will oversee the full spectrum of credit analysis, loan review, and compliance for Wholesale Banking Group (WBG), Treasury, and BB Commercial portfolios. You will ensure adherence to internal policies, regulatory requirements, and risk mitigation strategies while supporting the development and implementation of credit policies and processes. Working closely with business units and risk management teams, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining asset quality and driving credit growth responsibly.
WhatYou’ll Be Doing:
- Lead credit appraisal and analysis for WBG/BB Commercial portfolios, ensuring compliance with bank policies and regulatory standards.
- Critically assess credit proposals for new and existing business, providing recommendations based on risk evaluation.
- Monitor portfolio performance, identify early warning signals, and advise senior management on adverse trends.
- Support remedial and recovery efforts for problem loans and collaborate with collections and workout teams.
- Review and update credit policies, issue circulars, and prepare reports for Credit Committees and senior management.
- Ensure timely submission of credit returns to the Central Bank and compliance with audit requirements.
- Drive process improvements, automation, and workflow enhancements for faster turnaround times.
- Liaise with internal/external auditors and regulatory bodies on credit‑related matters.
- Education: Graduate or equivalent qualification; MBA or professional certifications (CA, ACCA, CFA, Risk Management) preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 10 years of extensive experience in Corporate/Mid‑Corporate Credit Underwriting.
- Strong understanding of UAE Central Bank regulations, credit risk management, and debt recovery processes.
- Knowledge of international accounting standards and local legal frameworks.
