Financial Controller

Our client is a diversified global organization offering end-to-end solutions and operating across various sectors including education, agriculture, trading, engineering procurement and construction (EPC), energy, and mining. The group focuses on improving essential infrastructure in developing countries, by designing and managing projects such as roads, bridges, power plants, and water treatment facilities, actively engaging in renewable energy initiatives, and investing in solar power projects and wind energy farms.

We are seeking a hands-on Financial Controller to manage and own the end-to-end finance function. This role is responsible for financial control, reporting, compliance, and day-to-day financial operations, while supporting leadership with accurate insights and governance.

The role is execution-heavy, detail-oriented, and suited for someone comfortable running finance independently in a fast-moving environment.

Own monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes

Prepare management accounts, financial statements, and variance analysis

Ensure accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial data

Maintain strong internal controls and documentation

Accounting & Compliance

Ensure compliance with UAE regulations, VAT filings, and statutory requirements

Coordinate with auditors, tax advisors, and external consultants

Manage general ledger, reconciliations, provisions, accruals, and fixed assets

Budgeting & Cash Flow

Prepare annual budgets and rolling forecasts

Monitor cash flow, working capital, and liquidity positions

Track actuals vs budget and flag risks or deviations early

Operational Finance

Oversee AP/AR, payroll coordination, and vendor payments

Support commercial contracts from a financial and risk perspective

Improve finance processes, systems, and controls where required

Stakeholder Support

Act as the primary finance point of contact for internal stakeholders

Support leadership with financial insights, scenario analysis, and data for decision-making

Experience & Background

20+ years of experience in finance or accounting roles

Prior experience as Financial Controller, Finance Manager, or Senior Accountant

UAE experience preferred (VAT, local compliance exposure)

Qualifications

Chartered Accountant (CA / ACCA / CPA or equivalent)

Strong grounding in accounting standards and financial controls

Hands-on, detail-oriented, and execution-focused

Strong ownership mindset - comfortable running finance end-to-end

Clear communicator with non-finance stakeholders

Practical, solution-driven, and comfortable in lean setups
