Vortex Fire is a global fire safety engineering consultancy with offices across the Middle East, Australia and Canada. We provide specialist services in fire safety engineering, building code consultancy and risk management. As part of our continued growth, we are seeking a Financial Accountant to support our Dubai operations and contribute to financial management across our international offices.
The Financial Accountant will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting and compliance for the Dubai office, while also supporting group-level and international financial operations. This role suits a hands-on finance professional with strong technical accounting skills and experience working in a consultancy or professional services environment with cross-border exposure.
Key Responsibilities Financial Accounting and Reporting- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements for the Dubai office
- Maintain accurate general ledger, journals and balance sheet reconciliations
- Manage accounts payable and receivable
- Prepare cash flow forecasts and monitor working capital
- Support budget preparation and financial forecasting for local and international operations
- Support financial reporting and consolidation across international offices
- Coordinate with finance teams and external accountants in other jurisdictions
- Assist with intercompany transactions, reconciliations and reporting
- Support group-level management reporting and analysis
- Ensure compliance with UAE tax regulations, including VAT and Corporate Tax
- Support compliance requirements across international jurisdictions as required
- Coordinate with external auditors and support audit processes
- Maintain strong internal financial controls and documentation
- Support payroll processing in coordination with HR
- Review staff expenses and reimbursements
- Ensure compliance with company policies across regions
- Provide financial analysis and reporting to senior management
- Support the Finance and Operations Director with ad hoc financial tasks
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, systems and controls across the business
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or a related field
- Part-qualified or actively pursuing ACCA, CA or CPA (preferred)
- At least 2 years of relevant accounting experience
- Experience working in the UAE with good knowledge of VAT and local regulations
- Exposure to international or multi-entity accounting is highly desirable
- Strong proficiency in accounting software (preferably Quick Books) and Microsoft Excel
- High level of accuracy, organisation and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with non-finance stakeholders
- Fluent in English
