Shari' Audit Manager

The Internal Shari’ah Audit Division is responsible for providing independent assurance over the Bank’s Shari’ah governance framework, compliance processes, and internal control environment. The unit ensures that Shari’ah audit activities are executed in line with Global Internal Audit Standards (GIAS), the IIA’s International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF), and regulatory expectations issued by the Central Bank of the UAE and relevant authorities.

This role focuses on strengthening quality assurance, audit methodology, and execution standards while supporting continuous improvement initiatives and enhancing the effectiveness of Shari’ah audit practices across the Bank.

• Lead and support the design, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of the Shari’ah Audit Quality Assurance and Improvement Program (QAIP) in line with IIA standards and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct periodic internal quality reviews of Shari’ah audit engagements, methodologies, manuals, and reporting practices, identifying gaps and recommending enhancements.
• Contribute to the development and periodic update of the Annual Shari’ah Audit Plan using a risk-based audit approach and support audit universe definition and risk assessments.
• Support the execution of Shari’ah audit assignments, including planning, fieldwork reviews, reporting, and timely completion of audits.
• Review working papers and audit reports to ensure clarity, consistency, strong audit evidence, and value-adding recommendations.
• Promote the effective use of audit management systems and digital tools to improve audit efficiency, tracking, and reporting.
• Support training and knowledge-sharing initiatives for Shari’ah Audit staff on audit standards, methodology, and best practices.
• Provide structured feedback to senior management on audit quality, staff development needs, and continuous improvement opportunities.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Risk Management, or a related discipline.
• Professional certification such as CIA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent.
• Proven experience in Internal Audit and/or Quality Assurance functions within financial services or banking.
• Strong knowledge of IIA standards, QAIP frameworks, and audit methodologies.
• Interest in developing expertise in Shari’ah Audit and Islamic banking environments.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
• Proficiency in audit management systems, data analytics tools, and Microsoft Office applications.
