Working as a key member of the Actis Long Life Infrastructure team and based in Dubai, this person will support the team on Actis MEA investments. The candidate will screen new investment ideas/strategies, conduct preliminary and final investment reviews of prospective opportunities, and engage with project developers, project partners, financial institutions and consultants on matters related to financial performance. The candidate will assist a deal leader in all aspects of transaction origination, diligence, execution and asset management.
Key Responsibilities (this list is not exhaustive)Working within an investment team to ensure the greatest impact on value for GA Actis and our investors. Assignments include:
- Financial modelling to evaluate new investment opportunities
- Carry out market research through review of third-party research reports, analyze market trends by conducting primary research and visiting competing projects/assets. Actively contribute to sector initiatives, become a knowledge resource for sector insights and expertise.
- Conduct due diligence in support of transactions under the direction of the senior investment team members
- Prepare screening memos, investment committee memos for new investments and exits
- Review legal contracts including financing/investment documentation thoroughly, identify areas of transaction risk and potential mitigation strategies
- Assist the team in all matters related to deal closing, including deal documentation, finance documentation and structuring
- Support business planning with the management teams, sponsors and operating partners for assets in the portfolio, actively review the business plans on an annual and quarterly basis
- Proactively work with the management teams, sponsors and operating partners to identify risks ahead and develop mitigation strategies
- Assist the investment manager with portfolio/asset management of assigned project(s), including debt financing, operational improvement initiatives, management recruitment, and exit planning
- Prepare quarterly investment reports and valuation reports for projects for review by the investment manager

- Work in partnership with global specialists (e.g. Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance) and sector teams
- Additional responsibilities include participation in Actis-wide projects or initiatives
- 3-4 years Analyst or Associate level knowledge gained within a private equity firm, investment bank, or top-tier management consulting environment
- Strong analytical skills, including financial modelling & valuation
- Proactive, self-starter; highly organised and focused with an ability to drive initiatives through to completion
- Excellent research, writing and communication skills
- Collaborate effectively with others, including senior managers and external parties
- Strategic, analytic, and numeric thinking capability
- Strong communicator with an ability to influence others in a positive way
- Prior sector exposure to infrastructure is an advantage
- Fluency in Arabic and English essential
