Responsible for the full lifecycle cost management for offshore and onshore decommissioning activities. The role maintains reliable forecasting, supports financial transparency, and ensures alignment between engineering estimates and actual execution performance.
The position actively monitors cost exposure across marine operations, fabrication, dismantling, logistics, and contractor interfaces, enabling informed decisions and disciplined financial governance as project scope and operational complexity expand.
Responsibilities- Develop and maintain accurate Forecast at Completion (FAC) projections for assigned decommissioning scopes.
- Compare actual expenditure with approved budgets and identify deviations, emerging risks, and cost trends.
- Provide visibility of costs relating to marine spreads, lifting operations, fabrication works, diving support activities, dismantling, transport, and disposal.
- Ensure consistency between engineering estimates, contractor commercial submissions, and execution performance.
- Prepare monthly project cost reports detailing commitments, incurred costs, and projected completion values.
- Generate accruals in coordination with Finance based on progress measurement and contractual milestones.
- Contribute clear financial summaries for management reporting.
- Maintain oversight of purchase orders, commitments, variations, and change instructions.
- Review and validate contractor invoices for contractual and commercial compliance, including reimbursable labour and vessel rates where applicable.
- Analyse monthly manpower utilisation covering employees, direct hires, and contractors against approved budgets.
- Highlight productivity trends, cost inefficiencies, and potential overruns linked to workforce deployment.
- Provide management with visibility of manpower-driven cost exposure.
- Evaluate financial implications of scope amendments and update forecasts accordingly.
- Support preparation and justification of change requests and approval documentation.
- Assist in financial reconciliation and final cost validation at project completion.
- Degree in Finance or related discipline
- Experience with Oracle systems
- Minimum five years’ cost control experience within oil and gas project environments.
- Sound knowledge of Construction and Commissioning Management, Processes and Controls.
