The Finance Manager is responsible for budget planning, and supports the executive management team by offering insights and financial advice that will allow them to make the best business decisions for the company. The person in this role prepares financial reports; maintains accounting records; processes financial transactions; and administers a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company’s reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), grant management standards, and result in flawless audits.
Key Responsibilities- Provide leadership to the finance and accounting areas of the organization.
- Lead, coach, and guide the accounting staff to achieve operational efficiency and best accounting practices.
- Provide useful financial insights to help make better decisions about formulating and executing strategy, and offer guidance and analysis to executives and operational management to improve results.
- Prepare and analyze accurate monthly financial and management reports, including income statement, balance sheet, budget and variance, projections and forecast, and cash flow.
- Assist in issuing timely, accurate, and complete financial statements for all levels, including shareholders, executives, and management.
- Assist in coordinating the preparation of the draft audited financial statements and all tax returns.
- Coordinate the preparation of financial information in the corporate annual report.
- Recommend and report upon benchmarks against which to measure organizational performance.
- Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics.
- Ensure that all financial transactions are processed accurately, in a timely manner, and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
- Develop, implement, and maintain processes and controls that are current best practices related to transaction processing.
- Perform month‑end closing procedures, including overhead allocations, account reconciliations, and updating schedules.
- Assist in the production of cash flow reports, annual budgets, and forecasts.
- Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management.
- Oversee the finance and accounting management processes to ensure efficiency and compliance.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on finance‑related matters.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to improve the accounting processes.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for financial management.
- Provide financial analyses and models as needed, particularly for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
- Protect the organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
- Ensure day‑to‑day operations of the finance department meet company and customer expectations.
- 10‑12 years of experience in financial and management accounting, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role. UAE experience is preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or Business Administration.
