Trade Middle Office Manager

This role is based in UAE. Relocation support and work pass applications may be considered for shortlisted candidates, subject to eligibility and approvals.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and monitor end-to-end control of all trade transactions from import to export covering all areas of trade structure from receipt of transaction application to repayment of loans and reconciliation of transaction.
- Perform independent transactional risk analysis and explore mitigating measures with reference to approved credit facility terms and conditions and regulatory framework.
- Ensure appropriate transaction scrutiny, including review of supporting document such as import and export Letters of Credit Application, Purchase and Sales Contracts, Insurance Policies, and other relevant documents.
- Manage client’s collateral positions, which include clients’ facility limit exposures, cash position, submission of export LC (Front to Back and Unsold structure) throughout the life cycle of the transaction and follow up on top-up for transactions that are under collateralized.
- Perform price and vessel check on trade transactions and ensure transaction is adhered to bank’s policies, regulatory & AML/CFT sanction policy.
- Perform Mark to Market valuation and monitor loan to collateral to ensure financing is within approved threshold and conduct margin call whenever is required.
- Prepare daily trade transaction ticket for approval and co-ordinate with Business unit, Credit Administration, Trade Operation on the execution of trade transaction.
- Provide prompt escalation to Relationship/Credit Risk Manager of any potential risk or breach of credit condition which may jeopardize the underlying asset or related source of repayment.
- Provide customer/counter party conduct review, trade flows and facility utilization pattern during credit review.
- Main contact point for all Structure trade transactions to address client inquiries and to coordinate with internal stakeholders.
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly, monthly reconciliation and monitoring report to Head of Trade Middle Office.
- Perform department administrative tasks, participate in process flow improvement or other initiatives as assigned.
This role requires close collaboration with various stakeholders at HBL UAE e.g. Trade Operations, Operations Governance & Controls, Corporate Banking, Risk Management / Credit Admin, and Compliance teams. The Trade Middle Office Manager shall ensure that trade transactions are executed efficiently, with desired level of risk management and regulatory compliance.
