Job Summary

The Engineer - Permitting and Licensing at Black Stone eIT will be responsible for managing the processes related to obtaining and maintaining permits and licenses required for company operations. This includes coordinating with regulatory authorities, preparing necessary documentation, ensuring compliance with legal and environmental regulations, and facilitating timely approvals to support uninterrupted business activities.

To lead, manage, and implement a structured compliance program targeting establishments engaged in petroleum product activities across Abu Dhabi, with the aim of improving compliance with the applicable regulatory frameworks and ensuring timely submission of DoE permit applications. The role is responsible for driving permit regularization efforts, following up with companies, resolving compliance barriers, and increasing the number of establishments obtaining the required permits in line with defined timelines and sector objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and manage all permitting and licensing requirements across various jurisdictions.
  • Prepare and submit permit applications, renewal documents, and supporting materials.
  • Coordinate with government agencies and regulatory bodies to facilitate approvals.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and operational regulations related to permits and licenses.
  • Maintain accurate records of all permits and licenses, including expiration dates and renewal processes.
  • Advise internal teams on legal requirements and changes in regulations affecting permits and licensing.
  • Support audit activities related to permitting and licensing.
  • Develop strategies to expedite permits and mitigate risks associated with regulatory non-compliance.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Environmental, Chemical, Mechanical, or related field).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in permitting and licensing within energy, petroleum, or related industries.
  • Strong knowledge of local, regional, and international regulatory requirements.
  • Proven experience liaising with government agencies and regulatory authorities.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with environmental compliance and health & safety regulations is a plus.
