Role SummaryThe Oncology Product Specialist will be responsible for driving demand and maximizing the uptake of AstraZeneca’s oncology portfolio within the assigned territory. This field‑based role involves developing strong, science‑led relationships with key stakeholders, including healthcare professionals (HCPs), multidisciplinary team (MDT) members, and decision‑making units (DMUs), to identify opportunities for optimal patient care.
The Product Specialist will proactively identify business opportunities, provide tailored solutions, and execute strategic account plans in alignment with brand and business objectives. A deep understanding of the oncology landscape, treatment pathways, and competitive environment is essential to deliver differentiated value to customers and ultimately improve patient outcomes.
The role requires approximately 90% field‑based activity and 10% office‑based work for planning, reporting, and collaboration.
What You’ll Do Strategic Account Management- Develop and execute strategic account plans that align with national, regional priorities & brand strategy.
- Identify and implement local‑level opportunities to enhance the positioning and uptake of our oncology portfolio.
- Collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams (e.g., medical, access, marketing) to ensure cohesive implementation of business plans.
- Build deep, science‑driven relationships with key stakeholders, including medical oncologists and the full multidisciplinary team (MDT).
- Engage in meaningful discussions on approved indications, treatment protocols, and efficacy/safety data to support informed, on‑label prescribing.
- Facilitate knowledge exchange across AZ by sharing stakeholder insights to inform brand, clinical, and commercial strategies.
- Drive awareness and understanding of AstraZeneca’s oncology value proposition across the Decision‑Making Unit (DMU) and MDT.
- Organise and lead scientific workshops, speaker programmes, and peer‑to‑peer engagements with healthcare professionals and key opinion leaders (KOLs).
- Deliver credible, compliant, and impactful scientific messaging for our oncology assets through various communication channels.
- Achieve and exceed sales targets across the assigned portfolio.
- Utilise a mix of promotional tools and evidence‑based messaging to highlight the benefits of our portfolio and ensure optimal utilisation of the brands according to national and local guidelines.
- Monitor market dynamics and customer needs to adapt strategies in real‑time.
- Complete all mandatory training and certifications, including product knowledge assessments, in a timely manner.
- Uphold AstraZeneca’s Code of Ethics and ensure all activities are compliant with industry regulations, internal policies, and local legal requirements.
- Report any adverse events, compliance concerns, or conflicts of interest promptly and according to protocol.
The Role
- Minimum 2 years of pharmaceutical sales experience with strong account management skills
