Job Summary
The Pediatric Occupational Therapist is responsible for assessing, planning, and delivering evidence-based occupational therapy interventions for children. The role focuses on improving fine motor skills, sensory integration, self-care abilities, and overall functional independence in pediatric patients.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments for pediatric patients
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on child-specific needs and goals
- Deliver therapy sessions targeting fine motor skills, sensory processing, coordination, and daily living skills
- Work with children with developmental delays, autism spectrum disorders, ADHD, learning difficulties, and physical disabilities
- Educate and train parents/caregivers on home programs and progress strategies
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (speech therapists, physiotherapists, psychologists, educators)
- Monitor, document, and report patient progress accurately
- Maintain clinical records in compliance with professional and regulatory standards
- Participate in case reviews, team meetings, and ongoing professional development
- Ensure a safe, child-friendly, and engaging therapy environment
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Occupational Therapy
- Valid DHA license
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience working with pediatric patients
- Strong knowledge of pediatric developmental milestones and therapy techniques
- Experience in sensory integration, fine motor development, and pediatric assessments
- Strong communication skills with children and families
- Patience, empathy, and child-centered approach
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Strong observation, documentation, and time-management skills
