Assistant Professor - Innovation

The Assistant Professor in Innovation and Digital Health will contribute to the academic, research, and translational innovation mission of Dubai Health Innovations and MBRU. The role is responsible for advancing education, research, and applied innovation in digital health, health technology, artificial intelligence in healthcare, health data sciences, and emerging models of digitally enabled care.

The post holder will support the development of an integrated ecosystem linking academia, clinical operations, research, industry collaboration, and entrepreneurship, in alignment with Dubai Health’s strategic priorities.

• Design, develop, and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in digital health, health innovation and related disciplines.
• Contribute to curriculum development, course leadership, and academic program design within relevant colleges and interdisciplinary programs.
• Supervise undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral students, including dissertations and research projects.
• Participate in academic advising, student mentorship, and assessment processes.

• Establish and sustain an independent research program in digital health, innovation science, health systems transformation, AI applications, or related domains.
• Secure competitive research funding from national and international agencies.
• Publish in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals and contribute to the academic visibility of Dubai Health and MBRU.
• Lead or participate in interdisciplinary research initiatives bridging clinical services, data science, biomedical engineering, and health systems.
• Support translation of research outputs into practical solutions, pilots, patents, startups, or scalable digital health implementations.

• Contribute to the strategic development of Dubai Health Innovations as a platform for development, commercialization, partnerships, and health technology evaluation.
• Collaborate with clinical departments to design and assess digital health interventions and technology-enabled care models.
• Engage with industry, government, and regulatory stakeholders to support innovation pilots, sandboxes, and digital transformation initiatives.
• Participate in academic committees and institutional governance as required.

• Represent Dubai Health in conferences, expert panels, and advisory groups.
• Contribute to continuing professional development programs and executive education in digital health and innovation.
• Maintain professional competence and contribute to thought leadership in digital health and health innovation policy.

• PhD or equivalent in Digital Health, Bio Design, Health Informatics, Biomedical Engineering, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Health Systems, Public Health, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated scholarly expertise in digital health technologies, AI in healthcare, health data analytics, innovation management, or health systems digital transformation.

  Evidence of academic teaching capability at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels.
• Experience in grant writing and securing funding.

Minimum 10 years, relevant postdoctoral academic, research, or industry experience in digital health or healthcare innovation.
