Job Description

As a Patient Administrator, you are the vital link between healthcare providers and patients, ensuring that every patient receives exceptional service and care. You are the friendly face and the reassuring voice that helps patients navigate the healthcare system. Your role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of the medical facility by managing appointments, handling patient records, and facilitating communication between patients and medical staff.

You will be tasked with providing accurate information, coordinating services, and resolving patient inquiries. Being a Patient Administrator requires a blend of organization skills, empathy, and proficiency in healthcare technologies. Your dedication impacts the quality of patient experiences, making you an integral part of the healthcare delivery system.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date patient records using electronic health record systems.
  • Manage patient appointment schedules to ensure optimal use of clinical resources.
  • Greet and assist patients, visitors, and medical staff upon arrival at the healthcare facility.
  • Coordinate patient admission and discharge processes to ensure seamless transitions.
  • Address patient inquiries and provide information related to healthcare services.
  • Communicate effectively with healthcare providers to facilitate patient treatment plans.
  • Handle patient billing processes and ensure accurate insurance claims submission.
  • Assist in maintaining confidentiality and integrity of patients' medical records.
  • Prepare and distribute necessary patient forms and medical documentation.
  • Assist in the management of healthcare inventory and office supplies replenishment.
  • Facilitate effective patient and family education and communication efforts.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in administrative processes and suggest solutions.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, nursing, or a related field of study.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare or medical administrative role is preferred.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) and other healthcare software.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with diverse populations.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a dynamic team environment.
